June (eng)
This year marks 25 years since I wrote my very first blog post. It’s hard to believe how something so small could come to mean so much. Over time, things shifted – I stopped blogging and began sharing life through snapshots on Instagram instead.
But a part of me has been longing to return. To words, to storytelling. So I’ve decided: one post each month, in both Swedish and English. A little archive of thoughts, memories, and quiet moments from the month that passed.
Thank you for being here. Welcome back – or perhaps, welcome home.
Café 1886
Helsingborg has many cafés, but I’ve always had a soft spot for the smaller, cozier pastry cafés. A quiet moment with my husband – I take the chance when he’s not off chasing the next perfect swing on the golf course.
This month brings a longing for a really good ice cream, enjoyed while strolling past old building facades, breathing in nature just around the corner, and catching the scent of saltwater on the breeze.
Evergreen
A book I often carry with me, and have read many times, is Evergreen by Lydia Millen. It’s a deeply personal book about the four seasons – how they shape us, stir memories, and hold so much more than just weather. It’s the kind of book that makes me dream away and come back to a calm I truly need.
I recommend it wholeheartedly.
Summer salad
June didn’t exactly begin with sunshine, but rather with rainy days – much needed, though. Still, it is the first true summer month, and with it comes my growing craving for a delicious, fresh salad to enjoy at lunch.
A perfect summer salad:
• Watermelon
• Cucumber
• Tomato
• Baby spinach
• Grilled chicken
• Sweetcorn
• Feta cheese
• Olive oil
• Salt and pepper
